The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D introduces new 3D V-Cache technology that delivers on its lofty promises with incredible Ryzen 9-like gaming performance. It even takes a huge swing at Intel’s latest behemoth, the Core i9-12900K, and manages to land some serious blows. As a result, it comes as no surprise that AMD has confirmed that there will be 3D V-Cache products on its impending Zen 4 core (due fall 2022), and with Zen 5 which is expected sometime in 2024, with both consumer (Ryzen) and server (EPYC) products planned. This launch is about AMD slugging it out with Intel at the very top of the market where money is no object. Gamers who want the absolute fastest gaming CPU AMD manufacturers may want to seriously consider the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Gamers who want the excellent price/performance ratio AMD is known for will be happiest if they consider other chips.
