In a nutshell: Lenovo has unveiled a new mini PC featuring high-end, desktop-grade hardware in a compact and portable form factor. Named the Yoga Portal, the device bears a resemblance to the ThinkCentre Neo Ultra, which was launched earlier this year as a competitor to the Apple Mac Studio. The Yoga Portal is ideal for content creators, professionals, and gamers who seek the power of a desktop PC without the bulk of a traditional tower.

The Yoga Portal is available in a single configuration featuring an Intel Core i7-14700 processor and a desktop-grade Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card with 12GB of GDDR6X memory and custom cooling. Other hardware highlights include 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, both of which are upgradable. The mini PC also includes a dedicated M.2 slot that can be used to add an NPU card for on-device AI processing.

Measuring just 195mm x 191mm x 108mm, the Yoga Portal offers a surprising number of ports despite its compact size. The front panel includes two USB-A ports, a USB-C port, and a headphone/mic combo jack. The rear panel features four USB-A ports (2 x USB 10Gbps / USB 3.2 Gen 2 and 2 x USB 5Gbps / USB 3.2 Gen 1), an HDMI 1.4 TMDS port, an HDMI 2.1a FRL port, and four DisplayPort 1.4a ports. Additionally, it has an RJ-45 Ethernet jack for wired network connectivity.

The Yoga Portal is currently available only in China, with no official announcement on a potential global release. Priced at 17,999 yuan (approximately $2,516), it is available to purchase from Chinese online retailer JD.com.

As mentioned, the Yoga Portal bears a strong resemblance to the ThinkCenter Neo Ultra, which was showcased at CES 2024 in January. However, there are some key differences in their hardware. While the Yoga Portal is offered in a single configuration, the global version of the ThinkCenter Neo Ultra provides several processor options.

For reference, the ThinkCenter Neo Ultra can be configured with at least six different CPUs, ranging from the entry-level Core i5-14500 to the top-end Core i9-14900T. However, it is not primarily designed for graphics-intensive tasks, as its highest available GPU option is the RTX 4060 with 8GB of VRAM. The remaining specifications, including expansion slots, ports, and sockets, are quite similar between the two models.
